Dr George Chan Fail To Defend Piasau

Such a waste for an experience person like Tan Sri Dr George Chan. He is the president of SUPP and defeated by DAP candidate who is younger than him. Tan Sri Dr George Chan defeated by Lin Sie Kiong with a majority 1590 votes in Piasau formerly known as Miri. As an opinion, he lost one "Mukim" and I think that they need to do postmortem to analyze what happen there. Six term and finally lost... people may fade up with their assembly man if he did not give changes for their own good. Life is just a wheel, sometime we are up and sometimes we are down and for those politiction out there, please remember to do your job fairly. I'm not pointing to Tan Sri Dr George Chan but as a reminder... think wisely.  

Dr Chan Fails To Defend Piasau

KUCHING, April 16 (Bernama) -- Sarawak United People's Party president Tan Sri Dr George Chan was Barisan Nasional's biggest casualty in the state election Saturday night when he failed to defend the Piasau seat in Miri.

The 75-year-old politician was defeated by 28-year-old lawyer Ling Sie Kiong of DAP by a majority of 1,590 votes. Ling received 5,998 votes while Dr Chan garnered 4,408.

Dr Chan had been the state assemblyman for Piasau, formerly known as Miri, for the last six terms, since 1983.

Dr Chan took over the party leadership from Tan Sri Wong Soon Kai in 1996 and was in the same year appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister I.

He had held various portfolios in the state government, including Minister in the Chief Minister's Office and Finance and Public Utilities Minister.

More Teacher From Semenanjung Malaysia Sent To Sabah and Sarawak

Sabah Not Enough School Teacher?

Do Sabahan not qulified for filling the shortage of teacher in Sabah? There is a lot of qualified unemployed graduate scattered around Sabah and why they are not employ by the government to meet the need of teacher here? Well it's up for the government to decided it. This qualified graduate need to pass the MTEST Exam and Interview before they can be selected as the qualified teacher. We as the graduate teacher need to motivate ourselves in order to meet the government need. Hopefully the state government can tackle this problem as soon as possible. More reading... below

BESUT: The Government will continue to send teachers from the peninsula to Sabah and Sarawak until the two states have enough teachers of their own to meet the need, Deputy Education Minister Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi said Saturday.The two states were unable as yet to meet the quota of teachers to meet their need, even with the open interviews conducted in both states, he told reporters after launching the 10th anniversary of Sekolah Imtiaz Besut, here.Dr Mohd Puad said teachers from the peninsula adapted themselves well in the two states. - Bernama

KOTA KINABALU 18 Julai - Kerajaan akan mengambil pendekatan proaktif dengan menghantar guru-guru berasal dari Sabah dan Sarawak mengajar di negeri masing-masing dalam usaha mengatasi masalah kekurangan guru di kedua-dua negeri tersebut.Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin berkata, langkah tersebut akan dilakukan secara berperingkat memandangkan terdapat kekurangan guru pada masa ini."Ini akan mengambil masa kerana kita tidak boleh tukar guru dari Semenanjung (yang bertugas di Sabah dan Sarawak) balik ke Semenanjung dan Sabah balik ke Sabah kerana kadang-kadang bilangan (guru) pun tak mencukupi," katanya.Beliau berkata demikian pada sidang akhbar selepas merasmikan Mesyuarat Perwakilan UMNO Bahagian Sepanggar di sini hari ini. Muhyiddin yang juga Menteri Pelajaran berkata, pada dasarnya kerajaan bersetuju guru berasal dari Sabah dan Sarawak ditempatkan di kedua-dua negeri itu kerana mereka lebih mudah memahami dan serasi dengan persekitaran fizikal serta budaya setempat.Sementara itu, mengulas mengenai kelewatan menyiapkan sebahagian besar makmal komputer di sekolah-sekolah negeri ini, beliau berkata, kementerian akan berusaha menyelesaikan masalah itu dengan segera. Katanya, beliau memberi perhatian serius atas kelewatan itu yang menyaksikan hanya tiga daripada 250 makmal komputer yang dibina dalam Rancangan Malaysia Kesembilan (RMK-9) di negeri ini berjaya disiapkan setakat ini."Saya tidak gembira dengan situasi itu dan kita memandang serius perkara ini. Kita sedang mengatasi masalah ini," ujarnya.

Sabah Conquered By PATI and PADI?

I'm really angry when I read www.sabahkini.net about the PATI and PADI is conquering Sabah now. These PATI is living happily ever after in Tawau, Lahad Datu, Sandakan, Semporna and Kunak. Did the government done something about this? Huh..... why these PATI can easily come to our beloved land? What shall we do about this? We need to voice out to ask the government to do something about this problem. Can you Imagine after 20 years from this people will keep on breeding and breeding and their number will overcome us and the tide will turn to us as we become homeless at our own country. Hopefully The Government will take some measure to tackle this problem.

" SAYA sangat bersetuju dengan pendedahan berhubung warga asing yang mendapat kerakyatan secara tidak sah dan sangat gembira kerana ada anak Sabah yang berani membuat pendedahan ini demi masa depan anak cucu cicit kita.

Tidak tahu di mana silapnya Kerajaan Malaysia kerana semua akui bahawa daerah Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Tungku dan Sandakan seolah-olah telah di kuasai oleh Pendatang Asing Tanpa Izin (PATI) dan Pendatang Asing Dengan Izin (PADI) ini.

Senario ini boleh disifatkan seperti penyakit kanser yang pada mulanya patut ditangani lebih awal sebelum merebak. Kita boleh lihat sendiri dari pasar ikan, pasar sayur, pengusaha bas dan pengusaha teksi majoriti dikuasai oleh orang yang memiliki KPT yang tidak pasti asal usulnya.

Kini Persatuan Teksi Tawau dikenali sebagai PESARUM juga memiliki Pengerusi yang tidak dapat disahkan ketulenan KPT nya; tambahan pula orang seperti mereka ini di lindungi oleh VVIP politik.

Persoalannya, kenapa VVIP kita sanggup berbuat demikian sehingga melupakan anak bangsanya sendiri? Mana perginya agensi kerajaan seperti Jabatan Imigresen, Polis, Jabatan Pendaftaran dan SPRM? Semuanya seolah-olah senyap. Tidur lena dalam kekenyangan rasuah atau takut dengan suara lantang VVIP politik terutama Kalabakan dan Sebatik yang melindungi PATI dan PADI ini.

Saya memohon kepada Mutalib M.D agar dapat terus memperjuangkan hak-hak anak Sabah dan menyiasat secara mendalam hingga ke akar umbi terhadap kenyataan saya di atas.

Sesungguhnya pokok tidak akan bergoyang sekiranya tiada penyebabnya!
